Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain (born Jessica Chastain) is an acclaimed American film maker, actress and feminist. Her films have featured strong women in films that have feminist themes. Winner of the Golden Globe Award, she has been nominated for two categories at the Oscars. Her birthplace was California within the US and developed an interest in acting after watching the stage play Joseph and the Amazing Tecnhicolor Dreamcoat. Her professional stage debut was in the play "Romeo and Juliet" and she made her first film appearance with the role in drama film "Jolene". With her role in movies like Take Shelter', "The Help", Mama', and "Interstellar," she began to gain more attention. The role she played on Zero Dark Thirty won her the Golden Globe Award under the category of Best Actress'. Her most well-known roles portray tough, flawed women. Some of them are considered to be feminist. An outspoken feminist, she is known for her vocal advocacy for equality in pay, as well as her refusal of works she felt were offering her unjust pay.
